So I follow the #axolotl on Instagram, and I notice a lot of the owners, have some sort of bubbler in their axie tank. Most of these posters don't speak English, so it's hard for me to ask them.

I have a 40g being set up for my axie and I was thinking of using a bubbler just to keep the water from getting too stale in such a large tank. However, I know that they don't like a lot of water disturbance.

How many of you guys use them? do you muffle it in some way?

I use a sponge filter (in addition to another filter) but it doesn't make too much of a current. I have used airstones as well. If they make too much of a current I would turn the airpump down if possible or buffer it using decorations.
My Bucky likes to sit under the sponge filter where a few bubbles come out, so he doesn't seem to mind it :D

Yeah I'll probably end up buffering one too for the 40g. It just seems like such a big tank to not go with one.
