I was in hobby craft and found some clay that drys due to air. Wondering if anyone believes will it be suitable to create a water section or bowl?
Or will need painting up or varnish?

Something like this for example

You could always try a piece in a bowl of water for a while and see how it does before introducing it to the tank. I would think that if it dries in air, it will probably dissolve in the water.

Thanks I will test it there is other clay which you put in the oven.

Even if it's the oven baked type, it'd probs still be an idea to seal it- especially if you're painting it! I've currently got some PVC pipe-branch thingies I've painted and put four layers of epoxy resin (The Jo Sonja stuff you get from the art shops) over it which are sitting out in the pond, which is creature-less at the moment, but depending on if I see any lifting on the paint in the next week, that is likely to change :p
Can't wait to see that sculpture once you finish it!
