Question: Bullying / Stopped Eating

HELP!

I have had my 2 axolotls for around a month now. Gold one (Percy) is one month older than Sir Lance-lotl (Wild type).

They have lived together since before I go them. Still young (less than 6 months). Percy has been growing faster and over the last few days, I have noticed that Lance has had some gills bitten. Lance has been hiding in the tunnel and has stopped eating. I can't even tempt him when it is right up against his mouth.

No signs of impaction or white spots present. However, Percy has been getting white feet and his gills are more red and fantastic (maturing??)

25% water changes done every 5 days, and 50% done every fortnight. Debris is kept out of the tank, and the water is correct temperature.

I don't know what to do.. Don't want to lose my little Lance!

What are their sizes ?

If there is now a difference in size you need to separate them. Either use a divider or get a 2nd tank.

They are still similar in size. The gold one is about 1.5cm longer.

I have not noticed any further bullying since my original post.

Water test yesterday showed some ammonia, so have cleared that up with a neutralizer, and am keeping an eye on them before I do a big water change, as I don't want to stress them too much.

Lance the wild type has started to come out of his hidey-hole today and is eating, very happy about that.
