i bought a golden axy from burnley pet shop and grrrrr at the incompetence of them!!

i phoned first and they said they had a white albino with pink eyes so i get there and they have golden ones with clearish pinky eyes so i have a big argument with them about itd. i said to her when you said white albino with pink eyes did you mean gold with clear eyes and she was like 'yeah. well these are more popular' and i said well ive come from wigan to get here and you lied about what you had and she said well if you said im coming from far away can you just make sure you have those......so if im not travelling from far away its ok to lie to me??!?!?!?1
and she just so rude and was then like well they are still albino! which i wasnt even disputing! but grrrrrrr such stress!!! even IF i was in the wrong she still should have been apologetic to me etc! so never shopping there again!

but anyways...the axy i got is kind of deformed. its right side front and back legs are like claws. just two toes. it doesnt seem it is just two toes though because it doesnt seem they have been bitten off. mik you got one from there are yours the same??
 
In fact, why'd you get another axie at all? Didnt you have to get rid of all yours because you made your mother angry? How many do you have now? Where are you keeping them all?
 
Ive been through this well loads...

they are at my boyfriends house. i now have 7 axies. 3 adultish ones. 2 small babies and 2 mediumish ones. they are separated in 2 tanks.

my mum is moving out in around 6 weeks and letting me have them back then.

i didnt realised it was deformed until properly looking at it at home. but just because it is deformed i still love it just as much. i was just wondering why/how this might have happened.
 
Most pet shops / aquarists don't realize that there is such a variety in Axolotls as far as they are concerned they are either black or white.
The toes could have been lost in a number of ways, the most obvious is that they were bitten off as a youngster and never grew back properly. You really should inspect animals before you buy, Did you not look at it in the shop when they bagged it up for you?
 
Sorry been offline for a couple of days everyone...Jenny I got two goldens from same shop mine are perfectly healthy and growing fast.

I also bought some P.Watls for someone else. I took quite a few minutes inspecting them all before deciding which I wanted.

I have a wildtype female, Ariel who only has two toes on one of her front feet. It doesn't affect her in any way. I don't notice it really.

Certainly hasn't affected her sex life...lol. Eggs are coming along fine.
 
Mik... how long now till the eggs hatch... oh and check your email!!
 
what kind of babies are they likely to be? which pet shops will you be selling them to.
 
walk first run later...they are vey slow to hatch but are twitching away nicely (18 days since laying). Depends how many survive as to whhat i'll do with them.
 
if you have any white albino or melanoids will you tell me which pet shop they go to (apart from mancs aquatics cos they charge way to loads!)

Please note that in another thread Mikki said about his eggs and that they were to wildtypes that mated.
 
oh right, sorry. i get lost with the posts now cos my comp doesnt work so i use my mums lapop and different terminals at college and work so the 'new' sign doesnt appear.
