So for Christmas I may get a few Axies! Is there a classifieds section here? Or does anyone have a recommended website with CHEAP SHIPPING? Thanks

Select "forum index" , US classifieds are at the bottom, plenty of sellers for you to choose from.

Cheap shipping is not necessarily a good thing, assuming you want your Axolotl's to arrive alive. I would recommend buying from someone with a good reputation or good reviews, and/or a live arrival gaurantee, and not the one with the cheapest shipping. I would expect to pay $12 to $45, depending on the distance and shipping option you choose.

i dont know where u live but just in about every area there is a reptile expo every few months in the least, i just got mine from there, very healthy and active, informative breeder, live food vendors present. u might have to be willing to drive out 1-2 hours but its totally worth it to see all the reptiles and morphs aswell. reasonably priced too. great experience, no shipping cost but whtever u were going to pay probably goes to gas for driving. just a thought :)

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
