C orientalis breeding

I hi everyone,long time no see I have bred chinese fire bellied newts before and I figure it's about the time for them to breed again? anyway last time I bred them,Ii was a speiceis tank but now my tank has mountain minnows with the newts.Will they eat the eggs?

My C.orientalis always start breeding in the fall. However, yes, they should breed by now.
I don´t think the minnows can eat the eggs, they don´t even have the strength to pick them from the leaves.
