I think it's an Eastern Tiger salamander but it's hard to tell.

Can you give us some information on where you got it from? If you caught it then leave out the specfic location and just give us a state. That should aid us in giving you a more definitive answer.

It's a tiger. Probably eastern, especially if you got it from someone who had LOTS of them.

That would result in digestion.

You can put two tiger sals together, as long as they're similar size and you have enough hiding spots.

I would say it is Ambystoma diaboli.

I would say it is Ambystoma diaboli.

I thought that was a tiger salamander subspecies (not sure which species) not a species in its own right

also can i ask does it have a tail injury or is it just the camera angle?

i have no idea about what happen with his tail its always been like that. he dosnt have a tail like the other tigers its for of like a paddle.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
