Can my fired bellied newts eat triops?

I have alot of triop eggs that i was about to hatch for my son and noticed i have tons more left over. I wanted to know if these would be any harm to my babies (they are adults lol) in any way?? Can they eat them?

If the triops are very young it won't be a problem. As they grow larger I would be more carefull, they are predatory.
