Can the chip in this tank be patched, or does it render it unusable?

I'm in the process of getting ready to move out of my apartment at the end of the month, and at some point, an inexplicable crack has appeared in the tank. I might have bumped into it with something, but I had only just discovered this whilst I was doing a weekly clean. Luckily, this is still just a temporary tank (I intend to upgrade my axolotl's home massively once the move is complete). Even so, if there's any chance of this leaking or breaking open, or if there's any way to patch this up for long enough to get my new tank set up, I'd like to know.

Sorry, I thought I had posted this to the "tank" subsection of the forum. If someone could move it there, that'd be great.

Spoke with the local pet store, and the believe the chip to be non-threatening to the overall structural integrity, and have suggested aquarium silicone to patch it up, which I will be doing.

If anyone disagrees with this assessment, let me know.

It's on the corner. If you use a plastic sheet to make a corner profile and fix it with plenty of silicone sealant, then there’s really nothing to worry about.

Do I need the plastic sheet? And if so, what kind of plastic sheet? I ended up just covering the gap with silicone sealant before this was posted.
