I have 1 female and 1 male tiger salamander right now going through metamorphosis (about a month now). Male is 10” long and female 9” (actual age unknown) I was wondering if they can/ should breed right now or if it’s harmful

To my knowledge there isn't anything known about this. There are a few pertinent pieces of information that we do know. First, some populations with facultative paedomorphs do reach sexual maturity before metamorphosis which at least opens the door to this possibility. Second, most Ambystomatid species have very short windows of breeding activity and highly synchronized breeding cycles, often occurring over two to three weeks. Third, breeding in most populations of Ambystoma is highly seasonal and again is restricted to a couple of weeks. Many Ambystomatid species breed during the cold times of the year often on seasonally "warm" days with rain. Warm being in quotes because they are breeding during the winter.
