Hello everyone,

My little Nessie just keeps worrying me. His back legs cannot touch the bottom of his tank. I am not sure whether this is constipation or an air bubble that he can't burp out. So as a precaution, I am giving him the fridge treatment. I am unsure of how many days he needs to be in there.

Here is some more information about Nessie's lifestyle; he is going to be about a year in February, and lives in a 20 gallon tank by himself. He has playsand as substrate and eats a small cube of frozen bloodworms everyday. He also has a pump filter.

I could use all the information I can get. Even if you have some tips for me as I am a noob owner ;) I try my best to do some research but there are not many websites with different information.

Thanks guys!!

I would switch his diet to earthworms as he's now about a year and could easily eat them. :) Earthworms are much more nutritious than bloodworms. But yes, sounds to me like he's constipated. Personally, if it were my axolotl I was fridging, I'd likely keep them in there for up to a week/until they passed whatever seemed to be bothering them. Have you read the fridging guide already? I found it really helpful.
