On the way to a Renaissance Faire this weekend, we stopped at the Syracuse zoo. Here is a picture of their caudate collection: a Tiger sal, an Axolotl, and a Hellbender. I never saw an axolotl in real life except for in a zoo, I think this is the second or third zoo where I've seen one (and I go to every zoo I can). Sorry the Hellbender is not a better quality; I took a bunch of shots and this was the best. You can make him out almost dead center of the picture, the dark object; and to the left (as we look), three of his toes, they are yellowish.
Next time we go to this Faire, we'll see the Utica zoo.

Cool. I used to live near Syracuse, maybe if I'm ever in that area again (which I doubt will happen) I may stop in to check it out. I would really like to see that hellbender!:D
