Chat & Web-Email currently not working

Just a note to say the server maintenance and backup restoration seems to have had some side effects - the chat and webmail aren't working correctly right now. The ISP has been notified of these problems (which they caused during their maintenance) and hopefully by the end of Monday 15-Aug-2005 they will be working correctly once again. I apologise for the inconvenience but unfortunately I have no direct control over the situation or its remedy.
 
CC has been fixed. Email now works. I don't know about the chat though - I'm still trying to work that one out.
 
Yeah, I kicked up a stink twice about that and they rectified the problem. There may be other quirky side effects because we lost some configuration data on the server itself (that's why CC appeared not to be working). If anyone notices anything else, please let me know asap.
 
USCR appears to be gone. "There is no website configured at this address."
 
Here's quirky side effect! I have gone into my profile and changed my avatar but when I post it is still showing my old one. Weird eh?

Dawn - that's your local computer cache the old avatar. It's not the site's fault. You need to reload your avatar in your browser and it should display correctly to you.
 
I'm not as good with computers as id like to be. Can you maybe help me out? I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I went into my profile page and it is showing the new avatar, so I just deleted that and then uploaded it again. But it is still showing the old one when I post a message Are you seeing what I'm seeing? That darned old crazy frog?
 
Dawn, did you clear the cache on your browser? If you can't figure out how this works, you'll just have to wait a few weeks until your new avatar begins to appear on posts. The one I see for you is a newt sitting on java moss.

Thanks Jen, I guess I will have to just wait because I don't have a clue how to do that and I dont want to mess about too much with this computer as it's the university's and not mine! At least you guys are seeing what you're meant to be seeing
