Check up?? New to this

I just wanted to make sure everything looks fine. He has a lot of slime, is it healthy looking slime coat? Also I noticed recently that he is getting orange tips on some of his gills? Is that natural?

First, how old is this axolotl? It's hard to tell, but the first pic makes "him" look like a "her" maybe. Otherwise, she looks okay to me. The tips on the gills look like irridiphores, or shiny cells. The dusky hue you see looks like normal mucous coat to me. It is not ragged, nor clumpy. I have only had these guys year or so, but were she mine I would not worry too much. Looks happy to me.
