I want a chiller to drop the temp 10 to 20 degrees. in an 18 gallon plexiglass tank. I have an iceprobe chiller that lowers the temp 5 to 10 degrees. Is it as simple as getting another iceprobe and putting two on one tank? What are your recommendations?
Thanks

I wound up getting an Aqua Euro 1/13 Hp chiller. They have one hooked up to a frag tank at That Fish Place. So far they have had good luck with it. It should be good for up to about a 40 to 50 gallon aquarium. It was simple to hook up and run. The only hard part is parting with the money.

I would recommend a resun cl-150... they are relatively cheap and work pretty well.

The resun cl 150 is rated for up to 16 gallons. I wanted plenty of chilling power and the ability to use it in a larger tank if I decide. I did entertain the thought of chilling two tanks at once with the aqua euro but decided it could be a real problem if something clogged up.

I would have gone the bigger chiller over another tiny one as well  and that one will give you room to grow. Not sure how you'd go chilling two tanks off one chiller & how would you work the filters for both tanks? Communal sump? could work in theory but as you said what would happen if something got clogged and if you got something nasty in one tank you could risk spreading it to both.... you'd have to plan that very carefully indeed.

I'm having the same dramas with which chiller for my soon to be 5x2x2 (566L/149.6Gal) and to get the temp drop I will need from ambient air temp in the height of summer I'll have to get the bigger chiller that does up to 1200L :( still I don't want them over heating. It's also going to mean I have to go the bigger 2000L/H canister filter to cope with the chiller being inline and still retain enough flow to return to the tank. Something to consider. You may need to upgrade your filter so you don't lose too much pressure as it goes through the chiller and back into the tank.

I'm looking at the Hailea HC-500A 1/2hp Chiller Marine Aquarium to 1200L with the Pro-Aqua 2000L/H CANISTER FILTER $639 worth  it's just as well I love my axies so much
