Chin exercises?

I have two Chinese fire belly newts, and sometimes they move the muscle under their chins in and out, sometimes they just push them out, and sometimes they don't move them at all! Does this mean anything, like communication, or is just something newts do for fun?

I believe this is just them breathing.

It's how they breath, like frogs.
