Cloaca or prolapse?

Hi,
My axolotl Rex is just over 4 months old, i had him since he was a tiny hatchling of 2 weeks, and as a first time axolotl owner its all gone pretty smoothly so far!

This last week or two he got the subtle black finger and toe tips that indicate he is approaching sexual maturity, and has the tell tale bump between his legs that he is probably a boy... BUT
I thought this only occurred when they reached maturity - Rex is still a juvenile, so now I'm a bit worried its a prolapse.
His behaviour is fine and dandy, eats well from his little bowl and is very alert and responsive, and it definitely isnt impaction as he has a set up that is bare bottom tank with rocks the size of him and big chunks of slate.

Any info would be very much appreciated!

A closer picture of the cloacal area would be more helpful. From what I can see, it looks like just a cloaca.

I'm with Dawn; it doesn't look like a prolapse, or even that big of a cloaca. If anything, if it was old enough, I would say it's female, not male.

I don't see a problem at all either. My females' cloacas are the same size.

Thanks for the responses - seems I have nothing to worry about but as a first time owner I do worry about every bump, usually I find the answer on other threads but couldnt in this case. Thanks, I think he/she is a beautiful specimen too
