Collecting wild isopods

I want to collect isopods for a starter culture to use as feeders but I'm worried about them carrying parasites or other pathogens. How would I go about making sure that wild collected insects don't get my animals sick?

You'll never be "sure".
However, you could start your culture with neonates isopods still under the mother.
(Take only the neonates, release the mother)

Yes that would work I rase them, great food for smaller newts/salamanders
