Counting. one..two..three?

I have a 55gal (48x13x21H) and I was told that I could put 4 axolotls in here comfortably. I would really like to have 6. So, my question is, what dimension tank would I need in order to keep 6? Would 48x24x24 (custom from glasscages.com) work? 36x18x16 (40gal breeder)...36x18x24 (68gal breeder..although I dont think this should be called a breeder...)..24x24x25 (glasscages.com)..48x24x17 (glasscages.com)

As a general rule of thumb roughly 10 gallons per adult axie and 18" of floor space per adult axie.

18" as in square inches...roughly 4.5"x4.5"?

Sorry 18" x 18" this is just floor space and doesn't include depth. It may seem alot but remember an adult axie can reach 10 to 12" easily.

If you have plenty of hides then the 48 x 24 x 24 should be plenty of room for 6

ah the confusion has arisen because did you mean 18 square inches or 18 inches square.

18 square inches can be 3 by 6 inches. 18 inches square is 18 by 18 inches. Quite a big difference, eh?
