Crazy axie??

For the past month or so I've noticed my axie is creating "sand dunes" from surfing back and forth across the glass. There are only 2 spots in the tank she does this. I'll also sometimes hear one brief splashing noise in the middle of the night, like it's just one splash and then nothing. Usually when I turn the light on to see if she's ok she's in a weird spot like on top of a plant or something.

She does the glass surfing pretty franticly and I'm worried she's stressed, but her gills aren't curled and neither is her tail, she still eats like a piggy and begs for food like she's always done.

Tank size is a 40 gal to herself, temp is usually around 61-64 degrees, just checked parameters and 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and about 30ish nitrate which is a little high for me but it is water change day. I change three 5 gal bucket fulls every week so about 30%. She eats Canadian night crawlers and reptomin pellets. I feed her one big worm or maybe 10 pellets every 3 days. She always eats fine.

She was 6 inches when I got her back in august so does this maybe have something to do with her being sexually mature now?

Here's a pic of the "sand dunes". Sorry the pics aren't the best. But you can kind of see where the sand is missing where she's been running back and forth.

I do not know, I had some small aquatic salamanders and fish that would, when I turned the light off, make a plash or hit the lid of the tank. But they were all healthy and continued to eat normally, so just make sure that she looks normal and continues to eat normally.

Sometimes my lotls just splash around randomly, I don't think it's anything to worry about if she is otherwise healthy.

The positions she's in aren't weird, that's just how they like to sit etc.

My axolotl makes sand dunes too.

I clean the tank and arrange all of the rock to be all pretty, turn around and they're all covered in sand and it's a mess lol.

I think it's normal. Every once in awhile I hear a splash, I don't worry.
