Illness/Sickness: Curled gills while feeding??

The water flow isn't fast so I know it's not that but really oddly when I feed my axolotl her gulls really curl up! About 30mins afterwards they straighten again :s ever heard of anything like this?? I will say also she has been beaching for air a lot recently.
