So i have a little 10 gallon tank with one axi in it. s/he is growing fast!!!

anyways my filter broke last week and i had to wait a week to get a new one. during that time i did 20% water changes every day but now that i have my new filter (its a sponge filter FYI)

I did not clean the substrate or the decorations in the tank there is also a small air stone that was put in the tank 2 days before my filter broke

thanks in advance!!!

chances are the filter media is no longer wet, if not throw that in the tank. Your tank probably has some beneficial bacteria in the tank, so hopefully not long. Do water changes whenever ammonia reaches .5 ppm's and your good

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
