This is the first time I've ever seen a C.p in which the "breeding dress" has extended to this extent -- beyond the tail, onto the head and even around the eyes!
Among my 10, there's another with patches of blue/violet extending onto the body (2nd from the left in the 3rd pic).
Another thing that distinguishes them is that most have touches of red on the anterior part of their dorsal ridges.
These particular ones are from the Nakamura area of southwestern Kochi. While all C.p on Shikoku Island are said to be of the same Hiroshima race, I'm always on the lookout for regional differences
The way the velvet-like bluish coloring appears to be almost spray-painted on the body reminds me of the velvety green on some of my Paramesotriton caudopunctatus:
