Dislocated jaw?

Hi there,

Ran out of worms so tried to feed my axy, Spike his "emergency" axolotl pellets. He went for it but dropped it, Tried again but he wasn't interested but kept moving his jaw- kind of like a human would if it needed to click.

Didn't think much of it- Spikes not a big fan of pellets.

However last night I got some new worms and went to give him one. He launched at it enthusiastically, but then spat it out immediately, and did the jaw thing again. He refused to take the worm after that.

I'm at the vet tomorrow with a different creature tomorrow- should I enquire if they have experience with axolotls? or do I need to pop Spike in the fridge / leave him a few days longer and see if he gets over it?

There would be no harm in asking the vet about it, its always handy to know if they would be interested in looking.
Apart from when eating, does his jaw/ face look normal to you? Is there anything in the tank that he may have stuck in his mouth like stones or plant?
I would leave him in the tank for the moment and monitor what is going on for a bit longer.

His jaw looks fine, apart from him moving it like he's uncomfortable after attempting to eat. Doesn't look injured.

He only has massive stones in the tank, which are too big to swallow, although I guess a bit of his plant may be in there?

Tanks for the advice, will post again if he's no better in another couple of days!
