Do my axolotl look healthy?

when the tank is filled with gravels and rocks lulu looks so happy and active..always playing under the plants..but when i remove the gravel..lulu dont move much..maybe lulu is boring..poor lulu..haha..its for her own good..
 
You could always add a few places for lulu to hide, and some plants. I know my axies are always active and love to play in the plants and hides I have in their tank.
 
You can still have plants and caves and decorations without having substrate. Adult axolotls like having places to hide.

Also, overly active adult axolotls are not normal. As adults, they usually just sit there.
 
lulu does'nt move much now..but when i open the tank cover she knows its feeding time..she poop last night..

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
