I know they're not really suppose to, but my roommate and i have both heard some sort of noise coming from the tank that is not the filter or water flow thing. has anyone ever heard theirs make a noise? it was while she was eating yesterday and randomly today.

Was it a clicking or squeaking noise?

The only noises I have heard from my paddletails have been splashes (when they used to fight in their old tank) and blowing bubbles (in their feeding bowl). I've never heard any vocalisations from them

i think it might have been a squeaking noise. i haven't heard it in a few days so i can't really remember /:

Various people have heard their newts making sounds in the past - yours may well have been using their voices

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
