Question: Does anyone know what caused our axolotl to pass away? (Photos attached)

Thank you, we have got them some earth worms and the little guy loves them and is looking much bigger but our 5" one is not eating them. He had a mouth full of bloodworm's but that's all. We have been trying to feed them a lot more but he just will not eat. we have tried cutting up the earthworms and wiggling them in from of him but he just turns his nose up at them and turns away. we have also done a water change in the tank and added conditioner. we have also been making sure the temperature is cold enough for them. We have orderer a kit and it is on the way

Lotls can be like fussy brats. Keep offering the worm (cut if necessary), and don't give in to bloodworms. He will eat it if he is hungry. Also try blanching the worm by dashing hot water to kill the worm, and place it in cold water to avoid cooking it.

That is good to hear the little one is looking better already. It may take a little bit of time to get used to the new food. As Hayley said, keep persisting with the earthworms and don't give in. They will eat it if that is all you offer. Blanching kills the worm and stops the worm excreting a foul tasting secretion which the axolotls don't like.

Keep it up, you are doing well and on the right path :)
