Hi,

My little GFP leucistic 5-month old is growing really fast. I'm getting concerned that he/she is either overweight or something may be wrong. (My concern is only about his/her abdominal area. I haven't noticed swelling anywhere else.) My other 5-month old is eating the same amount as the other one but is not looking chunky or distended at all.

All of the axies from the breeder I got mine from had weird indentations in their abdomens. I tried to pick two that didn't have them as obviously, but now mine do as well. I know that they've never been on gravel. And they're both pooping fine.

Here are a couple pictures I just took:

What do you think? Hopefully I'm just overreacting....

Oh--I've been feeding them live black worms twice daily. The water parameters are good.

Your axolotl looks nice and healthy but I think feeding an axolotl twice a day when it is that age might be a bit excessive. I'd feed it 3 times a week and see if it slims down a bit.

I agree with Neil :D
Maybe feed just once a day for a bit and then alternate days, they will beg, but be strong and resist :D
