Does Toaster's tummy look normal?

Just checked on Toaster and I've noticed that his tummy is really dark and lumpy and his bum keeps floating up when he swims (though not when he's sat still.) Is that normal? Should I be worried? I'm a new axie mum so I'm constantly worried about everything.

When was the last time you fed him? He could be hungry/have an air bubble/ate some sand. Sand eating isn't TOO bad, but it's something to watch. I had to take the sand out of my tank because my juvies were snacking on it like idiots.

He last ate at about 1pm, I gave him half a block of frozen bloodworm but he lost interest after about 20 minutes so I took it out so it wouldnt spoil while I went to the shops. Should I give him some more now? I'm really wary of overfeeding, but I don't want to underfeed him either. He's a dinky little fella.

Also might be worth noting that he was kept on gravel substrate at the aquatics centre, I've only had him for 3 days.

He might have ingested some gravel, but as long as he eats and poops, it will come out on its own.

If it doesn't, I would suggest fridging.

The colouring is normal - you get that with albinos and leucistics, it's just their internal organs showing through their skin.

Lumpiness and floaty bum syndrome can often be attributed to digestive issues - possibly gravel in his tummy or gas - and it will pass on it's own. He may suddenly try doing an inpression of an eel - darting about, bumping in to things - it probably means he is uncomfortable and it's the same as you squirming when you have gassy cramps!
