Dont you wish you could handle them

Jake a voice of sanity in a world of hello kitty people.

Ok so here it is - not the best pic as my picture taking hand was in the water - but this is what he does. He will nip at me until I put my hand like this and then will sit in it for anything up to ten minutes before swimming off again! I had no idea why he was doing this - but looking at my hand it seems the same colour as him - perhaps he thinks my hand is mummy! (or, worryingly, a lady handsolotl...!)

Same with mine! They spend most of their time sniffing/trying to eat my hand (probably just hoping I have/am food), but sometimes they just chill.

I can relate as I find amphibians in general adorable, but I try not to handle them, wearing medical gloves when I do so I don't contaminate the tank with anything that might by on my hands

However, I have regularly had to handle my axolotls, so they let me if I need to without wrestling.

Nitrile gloves are actually toxic to amphibians. Your well-washed hands will be fine.
