Question: Drift wood mayhen

Okay so i really wanted to get some drift wood for my tank as i think it could make the tank stand out more, so i was going to obtain some from the neerest beach.
however i have now read on another thread that it is basically imposible to decontaminate it of all the salt and what not from inside it,
as i dont want to take any risks with my axie i thaught i needed to be sure though so would it okay to get driftwood from a freshwater site like on the river bank and add it to the tank with no possibility of it damaging my axie in any way.

You can cook the driftwood for a few hours, and refresh the cooking water for couple of times. If there's any salt left, it dissolves in water. If there's any salt left after that, it's so low, it won't harm your pet

If you're not sure on what collected wood may leach into your set up then you can always pick up a piece at your local aquarium shop. though it still needs to be boiled for a few hours / left in a bucket of fresh water for a few weeks.
