You ask if anyone else has experienced there larvae developing there forearms while still in the egg. I have not but I have just lost 2 fuzhong larvae to them absorbing their yolk sac.
Well this is what I think happend. I had 3 larvae hatch normally and on there own.. but this other 2 were slightly behind in development than the other 3. I left them an extra week and noticed that they had started to push them selfs out. It looked like they had push them self almost all the way through.. so I left them another day. I came back to move them but they had still not hatched.. at this point I went to extract them from there eggs.. which was when I found they were dead..
As far as I can tell they did still have a small amount of yolk sac left.. but this is the only answer me and Chris Michaels could come up with.
