Hi everyone. I've just had an upsetting conversation with a friend who had noticed an axolotl in Maidenhead Aquatics on Warren Road in Woodingdean. It was (usual story) being kept with a lot of fish and had all of it's gills bitten off and was clearly on it's last legs. Being quite shy my friend didn't want to confront the shop staff, but I just called them to enquire about it. They said it was sold this morning and denied that there was anything wrong with its condition. I know from when I was originally looking for an axolotl to buy that they charge £45 each for them so I doubt that their story is true
The reason for this post is
a) please don't sell your baby axolotls to this shop as they have no regard for their welfare
and
b) if by any chance anybody on here did happen to rescue this unfortunate axolotl can you please let me know so I can stop worrying! I am in Brighton and don't drive so can't easily check the situation myself.
Thanks x
