Eft won't turn to adult phase!

I've had this eft for a while now, he is never on land so that MUST be a sign of maturity. But he is still dark orange. I already tried raising the water level 3 inches. No help. Any good ideas?

If he stays in the water, I would say he isn't an eft. I would call him an oddly-colored adult. Do you have a photo?

Sometimes their colors don't change right away. I've seen morphs not even become orange for a couple of months, even though they were terrestrial. So just be patient!

Great news! His belly is turning a dark yellow. My little eft is all grown up!
