Eggs 3 days from hatching, help please

Sometimes genetics play a factor. But barring lethal genes, most people have a near 100% survival rate.

Aww not good but sometimes ment to be :(

Is this the one that had similar probs to mine?
Yes it was, it was also one of the larger hatchlings, i am now wondering if it was the large one that was last to hatch, but will never know. Just going to take extra care with the others now

Glad to report all other hatchlings(9) are all still well and looking healthy, although this also applied yesterday morning to the 1 that passed. I am changing my feeding routine, feeding them starting from today at 9.30 am, clean up and change part water at 12noon, then feed again at 4pm, clean up and complete water change 9.30pm

Glad all the rest seem to be doing well. Fingers crossed all my others seem ok.

I finally decided not to operate and just to euthernise he was bent in half poor thing. :(

The hatchling that died yesterday, i am unsure how long he had been in trouble for, but i watched him for a while and his little heart seemed to be beating well, it was beating in a triangular sort of motion, 3 beats a time, which was awesome to see as i have read about it. That also made me think he was in with a chance of survival, but he passed about 4 hours later. Feeling a bit better with my new routine, i actually gave them a water change after the morning feed, and will change it again tonight, in about 20 minutes. Will water changes every 12 hours be harmful in any way?

Don't think i would even contemplate operating on one, i did examine the one that passed, crazy to believe something like that is capable of having life, but awesome that they do. It was like a little bit of jelly snot with two little black dots(eyes). Will try a few more pics tomorrow as a few getting quite big now.

Hi all, been busy as my dog has had pups, but that story is for another forum ha. Anyway just thought i'd share a few pictures i took earlier of my day 36 hatchlings. Unfotunately 1 died a couple of days ago, it did'nt seem to be growing as well as the others so i was expecting it, there is possibly 1 more i am watching, but maybe its going to survive as i have watched it eating.

When did u switch from BBS to bloodworm, this is one thing ive always been confused of when to try :) x Because i think your eggs hatched a lot longer after mine and mine still have BBS and daphnia x

I have about 7 of mmine on bloodworm, I just kind of took the biggest ones and tried it, and most of them nomes down pretty quickly, I have a few more that would proberbly take them but at the moment it's easier to keep the bbs lot in one place and the bloodworm lot in another. Between the frogs fish and an average of about 8 teenagers. It's just easier for me that way. But I have found once they have there front feet, they will take notice and go after the bloodworm. :D

I have never used bbs, i raised my little hatchlings on egg yolk, and introduced them to frozen bloodworm on day 10, and they all have been eating well. Its worked for me, and as soon as they look big enough i will get them on live bloodworm. I used this method because i made the biggest mistake of buying eggs before research, but research on this site has done the trick for me. My eggs hatched 18 december(2 weeks)
