Eggs

I've finally got the setup ready and started watching the 90 tiny embryos. I thought some might like to see our new babies.

A typical egg--note the layers of jelly surrounding it.

Exactly how big...

Some share the same outer jelly

And some share the same inner jelly

A better view of the "twins"

From the side, you can see both black and white in the dark eggs.

In the batch are about half dark/half light embryos. In the upcoming days I hope to share some more photos of their development. All measurements are in metric; you're seeing embryos which are about 2mm surrounded by another ~2mm of jelly.

. I'm curious about the triplet embryo - I've had about eight batches of eggs this year (not raised), and never seen this? Twins are fairly normal, but not trips.

It's an all right one; no matter which one you get there is always another model up--lots of models up in my case, I'm sure

I plan to segregate the twins/triplets to watch their development separately. Probably nothing interesting, but we'll see.

Now... if only my brine shrimp would come in!

Gregory, if they don't try using black worms, cut them up really small. I read that several people have done this on the forum and they have had success

where did you get the eggs? Are the parents yours?

I only have one adult female and don't think I'll ever get the chance to mate her, so ppl's pics are the only way I'll ever see what it's like

How many axies do you have josh? How long have you had them? Because you don't want to start breeding unless you have experience with axolotls.

No I don't have any but I'm gonna have a couple of cynops orientalis (C.O) and later on probably breed 'em.
But yes I woulden't breed any species of caudate if I diden't have any experience with them.

Jordan - 'cause I'm at uni and am only home for 3 months a year in the summer, that wouldn't be long enough to raise successfully all the babies and sell them on before the new semester.

o yea then its definitly not a good idea to breed.
