I like it. Can you use sand from the beach? My dad has some very very small shells that he said I can use instead of sand. Is this ok?
 
shells generally contain limestone which will alter your PH (make it higher if i remember rightly) if you have low ph go for it, make sure theyre not sharp though.
sand from the beach contains alot of nasties, boiling and baking will help but i dont think it will get rid of every little bug, plus in some places its illegal.
 
WOW! My dad got it years ago so it's been in the garage for a few years. We rinsed it in a lot of water before putting it in the tank.
