Question: Emaciated Eastern Newt

I'm really sad to hear this, I know I have 2 Eastern Newts that I think are absolutely wonderful (love the colours 
)
Anyways, I'm not sure if it's been suggested but what you could do is go buy some Pinhead crickets (there only 1$ for 12 where I buy them so they shouldn't be expensive) and refrigerate them for about 20 minutes so they're slow enough for the Newt to catch. They aren't very large so he should be able to swallow them no problem.
