We're going out to CA in a couple of weeks and are going to take a day trip to Kern Co. to try to find some E.E. Platensis. I know there are some folks here who are experienced at finding these guys so i was hoping maybe you could give us some pointers and maybe help us zero in on locations that would be good to visit.
 
That's a very good point on the exploitation. I can be somewhat naive when it comes to trusting people to only have good intentions.
 
I just got back from Kern county yesterday. I did find a few juvy croceater at the very highest elevations, so I expect you'll have to do the same for platensis. By this time of year you tend to find juvies more than anything. Stay on northeasterly slopes.
