I live in Tampa Florida and with Hurricane Irma expected to hit us very hard, we will most likely have to evacuate. My house is on stilts but it is also already in a floodplain. Anyways, I was wondering if you guys had any advice on how I should transport my axolotl during evacuation. Or how I can keep my tank cold if we have to wait it out with power....

If you have to evacuate you can take your axies in fish bags in a picnic cooler box for a journey, keep them tubbed while you are away.
If you're stating you can insulate the tank with towels, blankets etc to try and keep the heat out, but other than that there's not much you can do without power. A cold basement would be ideal but I'm thinking that's not an option for you!

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
