I just had 2 new additions to my axie family! A juvenile Mel & Copper. They are both eyeless, because of their E gene which also makes them sterile & vibrant colors. I was thinking of naming them Mocha & Salem (If anyone has any other ideas lmk!) It’s only been a couple days & I haven’t had much luck in getting them to eat, only a a few pellets here & there which I was told they were being fed. No luck at all eating worms.. maybe it’s just the stress of their trip & new environment. They are around an inch difference in size (3 & 4”) but seem to be doing really well together so far, idk I may just keep them like that for now. Does anyone else have any experience with these babies? Anything you learned or had difficulty with.. tips or tricks? Thanks!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
