anybody know what a good filter would be for a 55 gallon tank pulling water 10 feet before getting to filter with 4 axolotls

Hi Norman,
This is a long distance for pretty much anything but a small pond pump/filter unless you add a sump. If you have the tank drain passively into a sump (you can use a overflow for a wetdry filter and make sure that if the power shuts off the sump can either handle the amount of water or that there is a suction break) then a filter can filter the water and a second pump rated for that distance can return the water to the tank.

i decided to go with a danner 7 pump and animate 1000 filter with a small pump to pump water back to tank and to a spray bar. going to keep both pumps in a container of water to help keep water little colder

going to have pvc pipe entie length of tank with holes drilled in it under a sheet of plexiglas with holes. so should cut down on too much water current danner pump makes and still keep tank clean
