So I got this 29 gallon tank dome front from this guy. It has tons of stuff like a background they can go onto, a filter and a waterfall, and even a fan integrated in the hood. I was wondering if fire belly newts are ore active in said season (winter or summer) and if that was when they breed (winter). Thanks.

They usually breed in winter and/or spring. They are active all year, even if kept cold.

Our fire bellies breed after a cold spell, so spring is the usual time. Ours are also active all year round. I'd be cautious about using a filter and waterfall, as fire-bellies generally don't like moving water

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
