Suddenly one of my fire bellies has left the water twice in a day, and except without my knowledge they havent left the water in a year. should i be worried? do a major clean up? i dont know? just makes me think there is something ive done to the water. hes back being aquaric after falling off a leaf, but just strange to see him in open air. thanks. ill give further info if its a problem.

I wouldn't be too worried, if he crawls out and stays out for long periods of time you might want to check the water and to clean up, but if he's just crawling out for a little bit and going back on his own I would suggest just keep an eye on him to make sure it's not a sign of illness.

my newt does this all the time, it's normal for newts to be on land when their younger, and then spend more time in the water as they reach adulthood. as long as his skin is still moist and hes not drying out, he should be fine.

What´s your set-up like? Water parametres and temperature?
A newt leaving the water for a short period of time once in a blue moon is nothing to worry about by itself, but it´s best to rule out possible stress causes.

the water is ph 7.2, temp is 68 but that is all i know, i will take the water to test it at the petshop and get back to you. there has been no change to the tank at all, i use evian bottled water and have a lot of plants, some that root down from the land section. ill post a picture (the water continues under the land as it is raised, there is no soil just sphagnum moss). the newt does seem back to normal, i think he accidentally walked out of the water and got curious, but hes back now......

my newts are fat though, how many earthworms do you give a cynops o per week/2weeks? the worms i get from the garden are all about 2" long and 5mm thick and i give them 2, every week and a half roughly, i dont do schedules well, but never more than one every 4days.
