I have a few firebelly newts and was wondering if feeding them worms from the bait store is safe.

Earthworms are the most balanced and complete food items for most newts, worms from the bait shop should be fine as long as they're nod died different colours or anything like that.

I've been using bait shop Canadian nightcrawlers for 20+ years. Go for it.

It's not just safe, it's the best you can offer! Of course, please remember that a healthy diet is a varied one. Feed mostly earthworms, but do offer other types on occasion just to keep your newts interested :)

It's one of the best things they can eat maybe other things like bloodworms and wax worms will be fine

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
