Hi there, I'm pretty new to this website and to being the owner of a salamander. Yesterday I was given what was supposed to be a salamander from a friend of mine because her parents were tired of it being in the house and were gonna throw it in the yard. She had it in a ten gallon aquarium full of water and was feeding "salamander pebbles". She got the salamander from a seasonal kiosk in our local mall which called them baby dinosaurs. She told me he was a Tiger Salamander but after showing both a neighbor, who has dealt with reptiles and amphibians all her life, and a friend's mother (who breeds frogs, snakes, and the occasional newt), they both came to the conclusion that he is not a Tiger Salamander. Could anyone help me identify him? I'm at a standstill with his care because I'm not sure of what he actually is. Thank you!

We need a picture to be sure. Ive never heard of "baby dinosaurs" being anything other than a tiger salamander.

I just created my account today and I'm not sure how to post pictures. I do have pictures of him in a photo album on my profile. I'm going to attempt to add one to this thread and hopefully it'll go through.
