Hey everyone,
We got a melanoid male on Thursday of last week and it seems he wasted no time getting to know our females a bit better. I now have an estimated 500 eggs from two females (and possibly some more being laid right now).
I am planning to begin removing the eggs from the tank in a few minutes and I have read that it is fine to remove them using your fingers. Can someone confirm this for me or tell me what to use if not?
Also, I just got my plants to root so I am not super thrilled about the idea of ripping the plants out and putting them in some tupperware. I do have some plants that I could move into the tupperware, but I don't want to move the established ones. Is it safe to remove the eggs from the plants?
I'm pretty excited about this and once I get them moved safely I'll be posting most of them for sale. I want to try my hand at raising a few.
Thanks for your help!
