Question: Fishless Cycling: Do fish flakes completely dissolve or will I have to clean them?

Hello!

I just started cycling my tank. I am using fish flakes, and have dropped a few in yesterday. Most of the pieces I dropped were pretty small, but there were a few larger flakes. They settled over the sand and I was just wondering if they would eventually completely dissolve or if I will have to remove them?

When i did it they grew like fungus but didnt dissolve i am cycling a 30 gal for my axolotl but might try it

I always spot clean the bigger flakes, but i have noticed that after about a day or two, they go white and start dissolving but I don't know if this if the good or bad bacteria.

If you crush you the flakes up ylto tiny pieces it might dissolve in the water faster
