Flint the Axolotl

I hope someone else will look at the pictures and give an opinion, to me that looks like coloration, but I'm pretty new to axolotls too. I'm glad he likes the marimo. :)

Please help guys! I left where i lived for 5 days and had someone take care of Flint. when i came back his slime was everywhere; he had spread slime all over his tank. his gills fluffs look a little smaller then when i left and his slime coat looks a little gone on the base of his tail. he has a small little clump of slime on the end of the tail. what should i do? he looks sad. :(

I cant help you but I will bump this post up to the recent ones.

CAN SOMEONE HELP HIM PLEASE! :(

Do you have a new picture of him?
If you get a new picture of what he looks like NOW we may be able to help more :D

I just read through this thread (I hadn't seen it before), and from what I can tell, you haven't been able to check your water parameters (the ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, temperature). I'm not sure that others will agree with this, but if I were you, I'd remove him from the tank and put him in a tub with clean treated water. I'd change all of the water in the tub each day until I was able to check his tank water properly. To make sure that the water in the tub is the same temperature as the tank water, just leave the tub near the tank for a few hours or so. You don't want to stress him with temperature fluctuations.

From what I could see in the pictures you posted, he looks good to me. But I haven't seem pictures since some more problems have come up.

Also, what type of wafers have you been feeding him?

Sorry i wasnt on this thread for awhile. turns out, he got a bacterial infection. his gills got really, really, bad, being COVERED in white stuff. he went to the doctor, got a few shots in his belly, and now, hes healthier than he was in the store! thank you guys for supporting C:

Did the infection reduce the size of any of his gills/frills? If so did they regrow to normal?
Did the vet suggest any changes to prevent future occurrences?
Did you need to sanitize your aquarium at any point (boil substrate, disinfect glass, etc) during his treatment?
Did you give him a salt bath treatment before you went to the vet and if so, did any of the white patches change color or flake off into the water?
Did your axolotl lose his appetite or develop strange behavior during his infection?

Sorry for all the questions, the bacterial infections seem to be less common on here and I imagine most of the time they get misdiagnosed as fungus. I'm glad he's better now.
