My five baby axolotls are a little over five weeks old. They are separated and tubbed. I was feeding them baby brine shrimp 2 x a day. I then started feeding them blood worms. Shortly after feeding the blood worms one started to floating. I thought it had swallowed air but after a couple of days of floating I realized that it only has grown one back leg. I lowered the water level, removed the air stone, and dropped its water temperature. I’ve been using Seachem Prime. Someone recommended that I change and only do one feeding a day. But it’s been three days and now they are all floating. Two are swimming sideways. I have an API master kit and have even checked my water even though I’m doing two water changes. The PH was 8.2. Everything else was normal. I added Indian leaves today. They want to eat more than what I’m feeding them. However, two are starting to look like their spine is twisting. They lean over to the side of the container. I’m really concerned. Is there anything else I should be doing? Or is there something I should be doing differently?

So many ppl have had floating baby's with feeding blood worms, and the worms can actually harm the baby's if they are alive worms, but my baby's float and I don't feed them blood worms, I think it's just what baby's do.

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
